Thunder God Vine Dosage and Common Drug Association
Medicinal TGV common drug association
Medicinal Thunder God Vine is a natural immunosuppressant. Physicians in China commonly prescribe it as a monotherapy or associate it to other drugs. These may include Prednisone in low dose (5 mg/day or less and not over 10mg/day anyway), NSAIDs such as Naproxene or equivalent and/or others.
In Rheumatoid Arthritis, it is also often associated to Methotrexate in low dose (not over 12,5mg /week per mouth) with outstanding results, and with other DMARDs such as Leflunomide (Arava) and Sulfasalazine (Azulfidine).
Medicinal TGV dosage
The medicinal Thunder God Vine dosage on the notice indicates 1 to 1,5mg/kg/day but to take in 3 times after a meal. For example 9 tablets can split in 3 in the morning, 3 at lunch and 3 in the evening. Or 8 tablets can split in 3 + 3 + 2.
I have read in different places that the maximum dose is of 90mg/day, although it is not on this notice. This is also what my Chinese physician says, although my prescription is currently 100mg/day.
To clarify the dosage information from the notice, the table below shows the number of 10mg tablets of medicinal Thunder God Vine per day according to body weight. Physicians apparently advise to start on the lower dosing basis of 1mg/kg/day in order to evaluate if the extract is well tolerated.
